Faux & Decorative Process

From old world designs to rich modern looks our faux painting and decorative finishes recreate a home. Dream Stone Creations offers a wide range of style and beauty. On our first meeting we'll go several style options and color choices to determine your desired feel for your home. Before any paints are applied to your walls we'll make sure we're on the same page by providing samples of the faux painting designs in your color choices. 
Our finishing process starts by providing many samples to help better distinguish the look your wanting. If you didn't find exactly what your looking for a custom sample can be created. 

  • From here the room is prepared by covering the furniture and floors with waterproof and tarps and coverings. The walls are check for nail holes, fractures, and other blemishes. Once corrected the trim is taped off to insure straight edge lines.  
  • The base coat(s) are then applied and the walls checked one more time for any blemishes that would effect the overall finish.
  • The next coat is then applied. Depending on the design this could be the final coat on one of several layers of of glazes.  
  • Depending on the location and design of the faux a protective clear coating may be applied.
  • Once completed, the tape is remove and the edges are inspected for any bleed through creating jagged lines. These are addressed at this time.
  • The tarps and furniture coverings are removed and cleaning of any dust or debris.
  • The furniture is placed back in it's original location and the project is complete.
