Q: What if in years I don't want the texture on my walls anymore. Can I take it off?
Q: Are there many styles of texture to choose from?
Q: How long does it take to remove texture from my ceilings?
Q: Why should I have my acoustic (popcorn) texture removed instead of just painting it?
Q: Is removing texture messy?
A: It's a personal preference. However, painting popcorn can lead to more headaches and hassles than it's worth. When painting popcorn there's always a chance of some unwanted removal during the process would require texture patch work. Also, doing so cost time and money without getting a fresh look that will update your home.
A: Yes. This is why we take the time and preparation to keep everything contained in our work area with the use of plastic and tarps. Along with much preparation we also spend considerable time cleaning up behind us including vacuuming and wiping down surfaces that might have acquired dust during the operation.
A: We can typically remove two to three rooms and apply new texture in one day. This includes prep and clean up. However, new texture (knock-down, plaster's edge, etc.) generally requires painting. This is done on the second day giving the texture time to cure.
A: With the exception of popcorn texture most textures are not removable. Here at DSC we've thought of that to. Our textures are light and relatively smooth. It's our faux finishes that make our texture stand out. With this in mind our textures are easier to skim coat back to a smooth wall surface. Also, our texture not being some of those thick off the wall ideas you'll not only want your texture for life you'll probably want more rooms covered.
A: Yes, we have many styles to choose from including our original Plaster's Edge which combines old world beauty with modern day concepts. More importantly, if you have seen a texture give us a picture and we'll recreate it. If you have an idea of a new texture we can work with you to create it. We've been doing this for some time with great outcomes.
